Pagetide privacy policy

Effective 2026-10-18 · applies to the Pagetide Chrome extension, version 0.1.0 and later · publisher: Gilad Amar ("we")

Short version: Pagetide checks the pages you chose to watch from your own browser, and keeps your watchlist and change history in your browser. There is no analytics or tracking, and nothing is sent to us. The only data the extension itself sends to a third party is your Pro license key, to our payment provider Lemon Squeezy, to check that it is valid.

1. Data the extension handles on your device

DataWhere it is keptHow long
Your watchlist: page address, the element to watch (a CSS selector), rule, interval, paused statechrome.storage.localUntil you delete the monitor or uninstall
For each monitor, the current text or number of the watched element and the history of changes (Free: 5, Pro: 100)chrome.storage.localUntil you delete the monitor or uninstall
Settings: notifications on/off, themechrome.storage.localUntil you change them or uninstall
Watchlist export and history CSVFiles you save to Downloads; import reads only the file you pickUnder your control
License details if you activate Pro: the key, Lemon Squeezy activation ID, plan, the purchase email and expiry returned by Lemon Squeezy, and the last check timechrome.storage.localUntil you deactivate the license or uninstall

None of this data is sent to us; we do not operate any server that receives it.

2. Data that leaves your device

Checking the pages you watch. On schedule (while Chrome is open), Pagetide downloads each watched page from its website, with your browser's cookies for that site so pages behind your login work, and extracts the watched element in an offscreen document with scripts removed. Those websites see a normal page request from your browser. Pagetide never clicks, submits forms or logs in.

License checks. If you enter a Pro license key, the extension sends HTTPS requests to https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/v1/licenses/: activate (your key and a random instance name), validate (your key and the activation ID, at most once every 7 days, triggered by a once-a-day background check) and deactivate (when you click Deactivate). Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) receives your IP address as with any web request and processes this data under its privacy policy. Checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy's website, not in the extension.

3. Access to websites

  • Site access (<all_urls>) is an optional permission, requested for one site at a time when you add a monitor for it. Nothing is granted at install. You can remove access in Chrome's extension settings.
  • The element picker is injected only into the current tab, when you click Pick.
  • No remote code is loaded. All code ships inside the extension package (Content Security Policy script-src 'self').
