Rowcourier privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-18 · applies to the Rowcourier Chrome extension, version 0.1.0 and later · publisher: Gilad Amar ("we")
1. Data the extension handles on your device
| Data | Where it is kept | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Rows you paste or import (spreadsheet/CSV content) | chrome.storage.session (in memory, on your computer) | Until you close the browser, or replace the data |
| Form structure scanned from the page you choose (field labels, names, types, option lists, the Save button) and your column-to-field mapping | In memory while the side panel is open; in chrome.storage.local only if you click "Save template" | Until you delete the template (Settings → Saved templates) or uninstall |
| Settings (delay between rows, success detection, theme) | chrome.storage.local | Until you change them or uninstall |
| License details if you activate Pro: the key, Lemon Squeezy activation ID, plan name, the purchase email and expiry returned by Lemon Squeezy, and the last check time | chrome.storage.local | Until you deactivate the license or uninstall |
| Results log (row number, status, message) | In memory; saved as a CSV file only when you click download, to your normal Downloads folder | Until you close the panel / delete the file |
Saved templates contain field descriptions and the mapping, not the values from your rows. None of this data is sent to us. We do not operate any server that receives it.
2. Data that leaves your device
License checks only. If you enter a Pro license key, the extension sends HTTPS requests to https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/v1/licenses/:
- activate: your license key and a random instance name (for example
chrome-1a2b3c4d); - validate: your license key and the activation ID, at most once every 7 days, triggered by a once-a-day background check;
- deactivate: your license key and the activation ID, when you click Deactivate.
Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy LLC, part of Stripe) is our reseller and Merchant of Record. As with any web request, Lemon Squeezy receives your IP address. It processes the license data under its own privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy. If you never enter a key, the extension makes no network requests of its own.
When you buy Pro, checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy's website, not in the extension. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email, billing address and payment details to process the order, and shares order details (such as your email and the license key) with us so we can provide support.
3. Access to web pages
Rowcourier reads and fills a page only when you use it on that page:
- Site access is an optional permission. It is requested for one website (origin) at a time, when you click "Allow on this site". You can revoke it in Rowcourier Settings → Privacy → Sites with access, or in Chrome's extension settings.
- On pages you allow, the extension injects a small script that finds form fields and their labels, types your row values into them, and clicks the button you chose. Page content is used only for this and is not stored except as described in section 1 or transmitted.
- No remote code is loaded. All code ships inside the extension package.
4. Permissions and why we need them
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
storage | Keeping your pasted rows for the session, plus settings, templates and license status, on your device |
sidePanel | Showing the Rowcourier panel next to the form you're filling |
scripting | Injecting the form-filling script into the tab you chose |
activeTab | Temporary access to the current tab after you click the Rowcourier toolbar button |
alarms | The once-a-day check of whether a Pro license is due for its weekly re-validation |
Optional site access (<all_urls>, granted per site) | Filling forms on the specific websites you approve |
Host access to api.lemonsqueezy.com | License activation, validation and deactivation (section 2) |
5. What we don't do
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising, cookies or fingerprinting in the extension.
- We don't sell or transfer user data to third parties, except the license check described above.
- We don't use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
- We don't use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
6. Your choices and rights
You can delete everything the extension stores by deleting saved templates in Settings, deactivating your license, or uninstalling Rowcourier (Chrome removes its storage). Because we hold no extension data on our servers, there is nothing for us to export or delete. For purchase records held by Lemon Squeezy, or any privacy question (including GDPR/UK GDPR requests), email busywright@mail.grokbot.com.
7. Children
Rowcourier is a business productivity tool and is not directed at children under 16.
8. Changes
If a future version handles data differently, we will update this page and the effective date before releasing it. Material changes will be announced in the extension's release notes.
