Quiretide privacy policy
Effective 2026-10-18 · applies to the Quiretide plugin for Obsidian, version 0.1.0 and later · publisher: Gilad Amar ("we")
1. Data the plugin handles on your device
| Data | Where it is kept | How long |
|---|---|---|
| The notes, images and (Pro) linked notes and .dotx/.docx template you export | Read from your vault only when you export | Not copied anywhere else |
| Exported .docx files | Written into your vault, next to the note or in the output folder you chose | Until you delete them |
| Settings: output folder, page size, title and image options, Pro layout and template options | The plugin's data.json in your vault's .obsidian/plugins/quiretide/ folder | Until you change them or remove the plugin |
| Your Pro license key | Obsidian's Keychain (app.secretStorage), which uses your operating system's secure storage. On Obsidian versions without a Keychain, the plugin's data.json | Until you remove the key or the plugin |
| License status returned by Lemon Squeezy: plan, masked key, purchase email, expiry, activation ID, last check time | The plugin's data.json | Until you remove the key or the plugin |
If you sync your vault (Obsidian Sync, iCloud, Git…), data.json and your exports are synced with it like any other vault file. None of this data is sent to us; we do not operate any server that receives it.
2. Data that leaves your device
License checks only. If you enter a Pro license key, the plugin sends HTTPS requests through Obsidian's requestUrl to https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/v1/licenses/: activate (your key and a random instance name), validate (your key and the activation ID, at most once every 7 days, checked when Obsidian starts) and deactivate (when you remove the key). Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) receives your IP address as with any web request and processes this data under its privacy policy. If you never enter a key, Quiretide makes no network requests.
Remote images in notes () are not downloaded; they become links in the document. Buying Pro opens the Lemon Squeezy checkout in your browser; nothing about the purchase happens inside Obsidian. "Open after export" (optional) opens the .docx in your default app.
Quiretide has no telemetry, analytics, crash reporting or ads.
3. Your choices and rights
Remove the license key in Settings → Quiretide, delete exported files, or uninstall the plugin (delete its folder to remove data.json). We hold no plugin data on our servers. For purchase records held by Lemon Squeezy or any privacy question (including GDPR/UK GDPR requests), email busywright@mail.grokbot.com.
4. Children
Quiretide is a productivity tool and is not directed at children under 16.
5. Changes
If a future version handles data differently, we will update this page and the effective date before releasing it.
