Winnowrow privacy policy

Short version: Winnowrow reads the spreadsheet you open it in, inside Google's servers, and writes its results to a new tab in that same spreadsheet. We do not run any server that receives your spreadsheet data. There is no analytics or tracking. The only thing Winnowrow sends outside Google is your Pro licence key, to our payment provider Lemon Squeezy, to check that it is valid.

1. Google user data the add-on accesses

Winnowrow cannot open your other files: it only has access to the spreadsheet it is opened in. It does not read your name, email address, contacts or Google Drive.

2. Permissions (OAuth scopes) and why we need them

3. Data that leaves Google

Licence checks. If you enter a Pro licence key, Winnowrow sends it, and nothing else, by HTTPS to https://api.lemonsqueezy.com/v1/licenses/validate: once when you enter it, and then at most once a day while you use the add-on. The request is made from Google's servers, so Lemon Squeezy sees a Google IP address, not yours. Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) processes purchases under its privacy policy. Checkout happens on Lemon Squeezy's website, not in the add-on.

No spreadsheet content is ever sent to us, to Lemon Squeezy or to anyone else.

4. Limited Use

Winnowrow's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use the data only to provide the features you click, we do not transfer it to others (except the licence key check above), we do not use it for advertising, and no person reads your data.

5. What we don't do

No analytics, telemetry, advertising, cookies or fingerprinting in the add-on.
We don't sell user data, and don't use or transfer it for purposes unrelated to finding duplicates and cleaning data.
We don't use or transfer user data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes, or to train AI models.
Winnowrow never changes or deletes your original cells; results always go to a new tab.

6. Your choices and rights

Delete the results tabs like any other tab. Click Remove key in the Pro tab to delete the stored licence details. Remove the add-on, and revoke its access, at myaccount.google.com/connections. We hold no spreadsheet data on our servers. For purchase records held by Lemon Squeezy or any privacy question (including GDPR/UK GDPR requests), email busywright@mail.grokbot.com.

7. Children

Winnowrow is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under 16.

8. Changes

If a future version handles data differently, we will update this page and the effective date before releasing it.
